While there is no substitute for experience when it comes to rigging, this class will present the foundational concepts that underpin good rigging practices. Those interested in picking up a paint brush should make sure to wear clothes that can get paint on them and be prepared to paint for at least one hour. This year, we’re blending precision and the sublime in which sharp and clean architecture meets a soft and elongated landscape. This interactive lab brings together Local USA 829 Scenic Artists and you to demonstrate and teach both traditional and contemporary tricks in painting breathtaking, large-scale drops. That’s right, Local USA 829 PAINTS is an open experience for painters of all levels. This is a two-day class run on both Wednesday 3/15 & Thursday 3/16 9am - 4:30pm Advanced registration and additional fee required. Participants will walk away with improved confidence, knowing more about both the "how" and the "why" of entertainment rigging. In addition to instructional content, resources for further learning and reference will be featured and explored. Do you need a blood recipe that is edible? That is safe for sensitive skin? Does it need to be able to be washed out of a costume every night? Do you need lots of spatter? Or just buckets of blood? This is the place to come try out various formulas to create the perfect blood effect.Ĭlass seating is limited and pre-registration is required, but observation seating is available. All these different stage blood recipes and products will be complied to create a Stage Blood Recipe Cookbook that will be distributed to participants. Attendees can also share their own experience and recommendations. Attendees will learn methodologies for sampling and testing theatrical stage blood, as well as experiment with mixing and testing different stage blood recipes. This lab is focused on sharing and testing various blood recipes and products used in costume shops. Slash Zone!
